Many people from all walks of life come for therapy for very many different reasons, all of which can be resolved through counselling. I provide a warm, confidential space where you can express yourself freely, safely and explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment.
I work in a sensitive, intuitive, empathic and non directive way. I don't tell you what to do or give advice but, where appropriate, offer my experience of how certain ways of thinking or behaving could make you feel lighter about life and situations.
I am trained in Integrative Counselling, using a Person Centered approach which draws on a useful blend of Psychodynamic insights, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (C.B.T), Developmental and Attachment Theories within its model.
What this means is that, as every individual is unique, this blended approach allows me to tailor the therapy to your needs and while I'm there with you, I am also separate enough from your life to be able to reflect a different perspective.
I am also able to work creatively in sessions. Creativity is a useful approach for people who may find 'talking therapies' too challenging, or who find that they can feel 'stuck' when talking. This is always a free choice and if this is something that you feel you would benefit from, we could discuss this and include this in our work together.
